Author Notes

I know what you’re going to say. I promised you a trilogy, and now I’m announcing Bell, Book, and Scandal is the final book in the first arc of a six-book series. So yes, my intention is to write three more books of a more stand-alone nature: Hex in the City, Bump in the Night, and Impractical Magic. As much as I love the first three books in this series, I was originally planning on something a bit lighter and funnier. But writing, like any other magic, has a way of unfolding in ways that are not always predictable. We’ll see what happens next time.

If you are new to this series, yes, the police procedure is largely based on television shows of the 1970s (yes, I KNOW that San Francisco police commissioners operate as a commission and are not omnipotent) and true, there is no actual Witchcraft tradition known as Abracadantès.

Whether burning a witch or writing a book, it takes a village. So thank you once again to the incomparable Keren Reed for working her magic. Thank you to the Office Elf. Thank you to our newest bright spirit, R.R., for casting her spell upon these pages. Thank you to the SO (or as he’s known around the castle: Graphic Designer, Master Chef, Dog Distractor, Guardian of the Gate, and I’LL-GET-THAT). Thank you to Kale Williams for—among other things—being willing to tackle Latin in a French accent. Thank you to my patrons for keeping the cauldron boiling and the home fires burning. And finally, thank YOU, dear readers, for buying this book. If you enjoyed it, please consider leaving a review.
