Other libraries

Other great libraries around the corner:

Multilingual
  • Library Genesys (http://libgen.io). A huge collection of books (over a million) mostly in pdf, but you can find there epubs, mobis and other formats as well. They have books in many languages. They distribute their whole archive by torrent and encourage people to set up mirrors. Currently they are facing legal issues and there is a solidarity letter circulating net.
  • Sci-Hub the repository of science papers taken from paywalled locations, for example from Elsevier publisher. Elsevier receives all articles from researchers for free, has them peer-reviewed also for free. Elsevier then proceeds to slap its copyright on the articles and then charges like $30/article for access, even though they have never been granted ownership by the actual authors. Sci-Hub is currently being sued by Elsevier, but the lady who runs it is defiant.
  • AvaxHome specially for new material, old links are usually broken
  • ebook3000 another good repository of links
  • FreeBookSpot
  • FB2 in Russian, but they have a ton of books, and many in English
  • Library Clockwise
  • ebooks.wtf. You must have an account, and be willing to pay a small fee (in BTC) for downloading, but they have a lot of rare academic/historical/political books you don't find in bookstores.
  • Z-library

English
  • Radical Militant Library (used to be known as Jotunbane's Reading Club). A curated smallish (~1000 books) library with amazin quality epubs. They create their own epubs by hand. They only have books in english.
  • IT eBook for information technology materials
  • Ebookee use to be a good source, but again a lot of links broken
  • Mobilism forum with links to download, have to sign up to search
  • Warhammer 40K Books This site has a large collection of Warhammer 40k novels.
They seem to be raw scans, though.  Errant text breaks, OCR errors, and the raw EPUB HTML code is a mess.
  • MOBI Library
  • iBookPile
  • OceanofPDF
  • Captain Goat comic library

Russian

Spanish

French

Italian

audio books

Lists of libraries

Anything more to add to this list?

Hi there,

Just to share my current sources of ebooks, nothing too radical but useful  ;)
http://avxsearch.se - specially for new material, old links are usually broken
http://it-ebooks.info - for information technology materials
http://ebookee.org - use to be a good source, but again a lot of links broken
http://ebook3000.com - another good repository of links
http://ebiblioteca.org - for spanish books

HTH! Great job kicking off the forum...

This site has a large collection of Warhammer 40k novels: http://dearjumpgoxdeges.onion/_catalog/b844e576@index.html
They seem to be raw scans, though.  Errant text breaks, OCR errors, and the raw EPUB HTML code is a mess.

I'm working on cleaning up the Space Wolves series.  This will take some time, but I believe it will be worth it.
Never let anyone force you into choosing a side, even if it means pissing off everyone involved.  A group thus divided is usually doomed.

I'm surprised Bibliomaniacs "Know your Onions" hasn't been mentioned yet. It is a collection of ebook repositories:
Bibliomaniac's List: http://mx7rwxcountermqh.onion/

besides the imperial Library of Trantor, my second ebook source I use is F2B. The site is in Russian, but they have a ton of books, and many in English:
F2B repository: fb2lib3argrtulnw.onion

Other good ones are Library Clockwise and MOBI Library:
Library Clockwise: clockwise3rldkgu.onion
MOBI Library: bookssutzsay4so3.onion

Thanks to the other posters for the links I didn't know most of them. Though I must say, I prefer onions.

Thanks for the share.

I also like freebookspot.es and avxhome.se.

You don't need to sign up in order to search or download, since the search results points to ebooks uploaded to file hosting sites.

But so far the site with most ebooks is ebooks.wtf.

You must have an account, and be willing to pay a small fee (in BTC) for downloading, but they have a lot of rare academic/historical/political books you don't find in bookstores.

I am beginning to upload my academic collections which are very big.

I found a site in russian which hosts magazines; Navigating the site can be a bit confusing if you do not speak russian, but they defenitly host english magazines on the site. I found current issues of Time Magazine for example.

Link:         magzdb.org

I'm also in search of other sites that host magazines, if you know where it's at.

Hope it's okay to toot my own horn here: I've set up a small-ish library of comic books/graphic novels at <http://r6rfy5zlifbsiiym.onion/>. I generally focus on independent/alternative stuff rather than mainstream superhero comics, although there is some of the latter as well. If you're interested in that sort of thing, please take a look around and see what you think.
