Automated redistribution and backup of libraries
« on: November 13, 2018, 07:07:01 PM »
I am thinking about a crazy idea.

What if we crawl, let's say, Library Genesis, in search of all epubs, then we upload here those that are not already uploaded.

I am thinking of creating such a script.

I think is a nice idea, AFAIK there is dumps of library genesis, so you don't need to crawl the web interface. The hard part is how to detect if the book is already in the library. I have always wanted to find ways to correct/formalize the book metadata automatically (maybe using googlebooks or goodread), but I haven't spend the time working on it to make it work.

if you plan to do that from the library we'll need an estimate before uploading of the space this books will take. We need to see if we have enough space or if we make enough space for them.
Happy reading!!!
