I came across two other libraries:

* Library Genesis (http://libgen.io): it has a lot of books in pdf and epub formats, mostly science, research, and education related books. They claim that their repository has ~35TB of materials.

* Sci-Hub (http://scihub22266oqcxt.onion): the repository of science papers taken from paywalled locations, for example from Elsevier publisher. Elsevier receives all articles from researchers for free, has them peer-reviewed also for free. Elsevier then proceeds to slap its copyright on the articles and then charges like $30/article for access, even though they have never been granted ownership by the actual authors. Sci-Hub is currently being sued by Elsevier, but the lady who runs it is defiant.

  • You just leave it to the Library.

There is thread about other libraries in 'The Library' subforum:

I'm surprised that SciHub was not in the list.
Happy reading!!!

Is it free of viruses? Can I really trust your suggestions?

Viruses

In the case of the Imperial Library of Trantor every book has being checked to be full compliant epubs. But there is no check specifically for viruses. I can not imagine many ways of placing viruses in epubs, and your epub reader should be able to protect you from them (like not executing javascript if present in the book).

I can not talk about other libraries.
Happy reading!!!

I wish there was a way to know you're in the good ol' days before you've actually left them. --Andy from the office
