How do you collect feedback? (Wrong language metadata)
« on: October 12, 2021, 11:43:51 AM »
Hi all.

I'm new here. I created new accounts both for the main site and for the forum.
When I search for a book and open its page, I don't see any ways to provide feedback on the content, like for instance message on an error in the metadata.

Is it because I don't have some appropriate access level or it's a sort of architectural decision?

I was searching for some JavaScript books in French and I used this query string: lang:fr JavaScript:

In the top goes a book with the title:

[fr] Professional JavaScript Packt Publishing Limited
Kirkbride, Philip & Isola, Vinicius & Gao, Siyuan & Francesco, Hugo Di

So it's displayed as being French, right?

But when we open its page (http://kx5thpx2olielkihfyo4jgjqfb7zx7wxr3sd4xzt26ochei4m6f7tayd.onion/book/cDPfEMAWKELBo2uW) it becomes clear that its description is in English. Downloading the book confirms this: the book is in English.

This is btw the first book I was searching for, and probably that's just my bad luck and 99% of the other books?
I clicked a few more links on the search page, and discovered that every other book has the same wrong metadata:

So basically people upload their content but nobody verifies it? How so? And we as a community also don't have any ways to verify it. Sounds alarming... What is the overall quality of the content then?

You are right, we need to add a way for the community to report when metadata of the books is wrong. We'll work on it.
Happy reading!!!
