After taking to the open water to escape the aftermath of the invasion of Wolfsheer, the survivors have little option but allow Alex Casper to be their guide, as he leads them back to land to embark on a journey to a town named Circus, a place highly praised by the well meaning but unbalanced Alex. But the journey to Circus is one filled with danger from the living and the undead. When the group arrive in Circus, they find a seaside town where the residents are little more than prisoners, controlled by Harvey Flint, a lunatic who decorates the fairground with zombie remains and fills the circus big top with gory zombie horror shows in the name of entertainment. The whole town is a place where safety and protection comes at a terrible price - and with the fairground the circus and even the vile zombie brothel needing fresh bodies, Flint has a horde of his own hidden away, to use as he pleases - even as a means to attack those who threaten his leadership. The survivors soon realise they will not be allowed to leave and are being forced to live their lives as slaves under Flint's command. Then Greg falls for Cleo, a woman who Flint considers his property. Greg finds a way to help Cleo escape the brutal ruler of circus town, but Flint has plans for terrible revenge and it will cost many lives unless Greg and Marc and Parsons can think up a way to be one step ahead of him. A post apocalyptic tale that follows on from Dead Sea and Island of the Dead, that sees the survivors fight for the right to live in freedom and peace - as beyond the walls of the fortified town, the dead still crawl the earth...
