Few Are Chosen, K'Barthan Series: Part 1 Meet The Pan of Hamgee: coward, unwilling adventurer and, by some miracle, K’Barth’s longest surviving outlaw. He just wants a quiet life so working as getaway driver is probably a bad career move. Then he falls in love at first sight with a woman he hasn't even met who comes from an alternative reality. That’s when things really begin to get complicated.

Meet Ruth Cochrane: she’s the Chosen One, destined to play a pivotal role in saving K’Barth from a cruel dictator. She’s never heard of K’Barth, though. She’s a public relations executive from London and she’s totally unaware of the chaos about to hit her life.

Meet Lord Vernon: power hungry psychopath on the brink of world domination. He wants to cement his hold on K'Barth by kidnapping the Chosen One and forcing her to marry him. Only one person is standing in his way: someone who doesn’t even realise it, The Pan of Hamgee. For The Pan, and Ruth, that’s a deadly problem.

A quick word with the author Q - Who would like this book?

A - It’s a total mash up but basically, if you like to laugh and enjoy a humor fantasy series or a British comedy story, you should enjoy this book. But as like any good sci fi book, this story has plenty of fast-paced adventure and action too, with thrills and spills and cliffhangers. If you like big characters and parallel worlds, this epic science fiction novel contains plenty: our humorous male lead, The Pan of Hamgee, is a funny hero and Ruth the female lead is a strong heroine who should appeal if you like woman character stories. She appears less in this book but comes into her own as the series progresses. If you like coming of age sci-fi, young adult alien stories, if you enjoy an alien world adventure or good teen science fiction or just want a British comedy story with heart, a strong heroine and a funny hero you should like this book.

Q - What’s so special about The K’Barthan Series?

A - It's fun and it’s unique. I wrote it for me. I wanted a book with a strong heroine who is a humorous female lead as well as brave. I wanted witty characters and an epic fantasy hero who was also a humorous hero. I wanted a book that provided fast-paced adventure with plenty of action and cliffhanger moments I wanted it to be scifi but I wanted a humor fantasy series too, an epic science fiction novel, a ya action series, an alien world adventure with bizarre alien species, technology, believable characters, funny comedy moments, light-hearted British humour and bits of all the different genres I like.

The series features a devilish baddie and the inhabitants of K’Barth are definitely galactic-style different. From Big Merv - the orange and slightly clammy Swamp Thing - to the small, red, furry resistance leader who will kill you if you call him cute the K’Barthan population has variety. Like all good sci fi books or fantasy novels, this story comes down to an epic cliffhanger battle between good and evil.
