“Mother! It's done!” I ran into the house.
“What's done Zamfira?” My mother came out, wiping her apron with concern.
“It's beautiful!” I grabbed her hand. “I have to show you.”
My mother's eyes narrowed. “What must you show me?”
“The village.” I rubbed my necklace that mother got me for my 17th birthday out of nervous energy.
We were standing in a village very much like the one we lived in. My mother walked around. She turned to face me. Her eyes were full of bewilderment.
“This...” I spun around. “...is my village. Is it okay if I name it after you?”
“If that's what you want.” My mother was surprised. “We're not in town?”
I shook my head no fervently. “This is the grand old village of Angeline. It's a place where everyone finds their true love and live happily ever after.” I spun in a circle. “Isn't it wonderful?”
