Xiaowan Lerma was born in China and sent to the United States for high school with one big secret, she was sent to be a spy. After living in the United States for twenty years and becoming a happily married American citizen, she is called upon to steal secrets from one of the largest biotech companies in the world. Xiaowan is torn between stealing from her company and the harm that would come to her family if she fails to comply. With attorney Aaron Baker's help, Xiaowan and trusted friends travel the globe in hopes of finding a way out of the espionage program and staying out of prison.
