Out of My League, Part 2

My life was spiraling out of control, and I couldn't stop it.

My husband, the man who was supposed to love me, was doing everything he could to hurt me.

My brother's wife thought I was a horrible mother and useless person.

The wannabe baseball player was unbearable with his cocky attitude and sexy smile.

Secrets were piling up, and tensions were worse than ever.

I had no idea what I was going to do.

Then I had a dream that rocked my world and brought me to my knees at the same time.

Was it me? Was I a bad wife? Was I as bad as him? Was I to blame for everything?

Just when the guilt and everything around me were more than I thought I could handle, my husband called.

He sounded like the old him, the one I'd cared so much about. He wanted to meet with me, and he was close by. Had he changed? Had he realized his mistakes? Was he coming to profess his love and win me back? I knew I owed it to him, the kids, and myself to hear him out, especially after the hours he'd driven to see me.

I stood outside of his hotel room door, a very different room than I was used to, and took a deep breath. Then I knocked, and when the door in front of me opened, any hope I'd had for us disappeared, and any love I'd had left for him went with it.
