In 'The Oligarch,' Vartan Mansuryan explores the depths of murder, cruelty, and fear. Told from the perspective of Robert Martin, the story tells of a narcissist and a drunk, who lives a double life as a family man and hitman for the underground world. Constantly assuring himself that he is both famous and the best for being who he is, his limits are put to the test when he is assigned to kill one of the most powerful underground bosses. Finding comfort in a young woman named Kristine, he is torn between the different worlds he has created for himself.

Robert Martin soon finds himself questioning both his sanity and reality, while his mind tries to focus on the task of killing the oligarch.
