Ramon Valdez is a Cuban-American marielito guilty of mass murder when a jewellery store robbery ends in massacre. The unenviable job of defending him falls to Charlie Morrell, himself a Cuban exile. For Ramon, a high priest in the Afro-Cuban santeria religion, his defence is obvious - the god Ogg?n made him do it and he is a saint. To substantiate his client's defence, Charlie is forced to uncover a world of horrific violence, racist justice and fanatical practices.
