Exotic dancer and college senior, Alaina Colby, struggles to live down her family's reputation as Goshen, Ohio's notorious crime family, yet loyalty to family, and caring for her meth-addicted brother, is what makes her truly rich. Stoke Farrel and Alaina played together as kids, but time has only increased his desire to stalk and have her. Like Alaina, he's also an honor's student. His knowledge of forensic dentistry gained from his father, Doctor Verbote--and all the ways to disguise bite wounds on female anatomy--make Stoke a fearsome stalker. In comparison, Ted Bundy looks like a cheesy warm-up act.

Finding her best friend's brutalized body behind the bar where she dances, Alaina vows to find the killer. She must, however, confront her own own insecurities, while coping with ever-increasing stakes, when she begins to suspect her brother, Robin, is the campus serial killer, Megalo Don.

Homicide detective Aidan Hawks, with Newport, Kentucky PD, has a penchant for collecting beautiful women, but meeting Alaina he goes from womanizing playboy to possessive lover and protective cop, who warns her off the Megalo Don case. After a one-night stand, the two slug out Alaina's willful refusal, and her anger with Aidan, who she believes tricked her into rolling over on her brother. Both struggle with increasing evidence that their intense attraction is no mistake, that its love-at-first-sight. Despite their personal conflict, Alaina and Aidan catch Megalo Don, who they learn is not one but two serial killers, a team. The team includes Stoke Farrel and his father, Alaina's boss, the forensic odontologist, Doctor Brick Verbote. Their goal is to remove two teeth from Alaina's mouth--ante mortem--and thus complete their set of thirty-two teeth, all taken from sixteen victims while they were alive. And they nearly get it done.
