[Star Lawyers 01] • Knife Fight at Olathe-5

A prequel short story to Tom Shepherd's Star Lawyers Series.

Tyler, and his brother J.B, are corporate lawyers for M-double-II; aka Matthew Interstellar Industries. They are also the sons of Tyler Noah Matthews.

Enjoying a drink in the bar on Olathe the brothers’ attention is grabbed by a man standing in the street door. A burly man dressed in coveralls sporting the logo M over two IIs was easy to identify as a miner that worked for the Matthew Interstellar Industries. A very angry miner stood there - one who had a large sheathed knife at his hip. He wanted justice for being miss lead by M-double-II about the job he came to the Olathe system to do. He was told that six months of drilling and he’d be rich. That was two years ago; it was the old “company store” scenario.

There’s a bit more to the story and just what kind of trouble the miner is in. And, to answer the questions of what Tyler and J.B. do about the miner, and who/what is Suzie you need to read this short story. It’s short and a good read.
