Michael Smith enlisted in the United States Marines in 1967 and went to serve in Vietnam where he was inexplicably swept up into a different war! Now aboard the Atlantean-Alliance Mothership Helios orbiting the solar system at light speed, Michael is serving under the command of Zeus, the King of the Ancient Greek Gods. Partnered with the Goddess Athena, the beautiful, but stoic daughter of Zeus, he trains to fight in a rebellion against non-human creatures known as Korantians, aliens seeking to colonize earth and enslave its human population. Now fully trained, Michael boards the Recovery Ship Caledon to travel to earth along with Athena. Decelerating to normal space speed, Michael an Athena are on Gunnery duty facing a re-entry ambush! In the entire history of the rebellion, no ship, either Atlantean or Korantian, has ever survived such an ambush! As Michael readies himself for his first real space battle, he realizes that the crew of the Caledon is depending on him to keep them alive!
