Focusing on animals, a subject of intense fascination for young students, this book helps educators build learning across the curriculum. It contains four sections-animals as pets, animals on the farm, animals in the woods, and animals in the wild. In each section the author describes subject-specific fiction and nonfiction materials and other books that will help readers make the transition from fiction to nonfiction.
