• Two of American western author Charles Alden Seltzer's classics from the early 1920s are bound together in this Kindle edition: Square Deal Sanderson & "Drag" Harlan.

Square Deal Sanderson (1922)

Sanderson is a free agent, enjoying the luxury of complete idleness with his horse Streak and no range boss to issue orders. But before long he is expected to ride in to the Double A to assume his new job. Fate has something else in store for Sanderson, however, and before he spots three men. He follows them on a whim, only to later discover one of the men with a bullet in his forehead telling eloquently of the manner of his death.

"Drag" Harlan.(1921)

One of Seltzer's most popular western classics, "Drag" Harlan sees our hero as the protector of Barbara Morgan with a drawn gun ready to flash at her enemies.

About The Author

American author Charles Alden Seltzer (1875–1942) was a prolific writer of westerns and his books were turned into more than a dozen Hollywood films.

Along with American writers Zane Grey and William MacLeod Raine, Charles Alden Seltzer is often credited as an originator of the western genre.

He was born in Janesville, Wisconsin, and worked in a variety of jobs to support himself, including as a painter and the editor of a small newspaper. He married Ella Seltzer, and they had three sons and two daughters and during the early years Charles Alden Selzer wrote on paper from the butcher during the years he struggled to become a published author.

His lively and realistic style of western novels is a result of the five years he spent living in New Mexico. By the end of his life, he was mayor of his home-town, North Olmsted, Ohio.
