Taxus Baccata is book two of the Taxane Chronicles. Having escaped the psychopathic Denzil Moorcroft, Florence and Nat hope to return to their own time and leave the English Civil War and its barbaric age, in the past where it belongs. Helped by the Cavendish family and finally rid of those who would brand them as witches, they finally fulfil their dreams and transport through the ancient tree portal back to a century which they understand.

The Taxanes, an equally ancient order avowed to protect the timeline, are waiting for them and take them to their enclave deep within Nottingham’s caves system. It is clear that the Taxanes know of Florence Brock and want her to commit to their Futures Chapter but she and Nat want only to live their lives in freedom.

One fateful night, by the gates of Nottingham Castle, Florence sees a nightmare that she thought was long forgotten. She chases the vision and soon discovers that it is horribly real. Nat has no choice but to call upon the Taxanes to help him find her but the news they bring complicates his hopes of a rescue.

The bond between Florence and Nat is stronger than the centuries which separate them and so Nat follows her to face his nemesis once again.

The Taxanes can only hope that the bargain they strike with Nat will protect the time line from the cataclysm that the future warns them of.
