[Castle Calder 01] • A Castle Calder Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve at Castle Calder is everything I hoped it would be. Gorgeous. Festive. Magical. It’s perfect. Except my mother is following me around like a lost puppy. And I haven’t seen Jasper alone for more than ten minutes, which isn’t enough for a satisfying kiss, let alone anything more satisfying. Add to that everyone’s asking when he and I are getting married, and well…okay, I lied. It’s perfectly stressful, especially the wedding talk.

Jasper and I are happy. I love him. He loves me. We’ve never talked about marriage, but the broken engagement in my past has made me a little wedding-shy, which Jasper knows. If he were going to propose, he wouldn’t just spring it on me. And it sure as hell wouldn’t be over Christmas pudding in front of all of our friends and family. Would it?
