Death of a Pharaoh begins a trilogy called The End of All Reigns. An apocalyptic mystery thriller with heart-stopping plot twists in the spirit of The Da Vinci Code, only more plausible. The action spans two thousand years and invites readers on an exhilarating chase through three continents with an unlikely young protagonist, bad guys that will redefine your concept of evil and a supporting cast that includes the pantheon of the Gods. A rich tapestry woven with threads of true history, believable fiction, a touch of fantasy and the mysticism of ancient cultures, the novel challenges everything you have ever believed, including important concepts of religious faith.
The epic story begins in near-contemporary Philadelphia with the murder of Fannie Carter, the last in a long dynasty of True Pharaohs. Like her predecessors, she dedicated her life to keeping the balance of Ma’at in the world. Her death starts the countdown to Armageddon and leaves her young grandson as humanity’s only hope. Just one problem, the seventeen year-old African-American is serving hard time in a medium-security prison for manslaughter and has no idea of his destiny. The Servants of Ma’at, the army of good that serves the Pharaohs, devise a plan to break him out and offer him the throne. That's the easy part! An evil consortium well on its way to a takeover of the global economy, including all major food supplies, knows that he is a threat to its nefarious plans and will do anything to stop his coronation in Egypt.
His succession to the throne, a vital step before he can intercede with the Gods on behalf of humanity, is already complicated by the presence of a legion of former Vatican Swiss Guards searching for the earthly remains of Jesus Christ, one of his predecessors as True Pharaoh. Their leader is a fanatical priest who heads a secretive Vatican agency called, Sanctus Verum, the holy truth. The organization has only one role, to find and hide the evidence that Jesus Christ never ascended to heaven. As they close in on the tomb of the True Pharaohs, the young heir coordinates an audacious financial plan that almost bankrupts the Consortium. Deeply wounded, it reacts by launching a vicious raid on the compound of the Servants of Ma’at in Dakar, Senegal. An attack so merciless in scope that it sends our hero into a deep coma.
With the life of humanity’s champion hanging in the balance, his dedicated supporters launch a delicate operation to relocate the mummified body of Jesus of Nazareth to Spain to neutralize the threat from the Vatican and clear the way for the coronation once the heir recovers. Only the love of his mother, which reaches him from beyond the grave, is enough to bring the teenager out of the well of darkness to reclaim his destiny.
The newly crowned king, not even old enough to vote, must decide if he will wait for a summons from the Gods or risk their divine wrath by demanding a meeting in an attempt to save hundreds of thousands of innocent lives. The Vatican, furious as the body of Christ slips out of its hands, offers a massive loan to the Consortium so it can continue with its immoral plan. They form an unholy alliance with a shared objective, kill the recently crowned true Pharaoh and prevent his meeting with the Gods. With the new source of financing, the Consortium resurges like a phoenix from the ashes of economic ruin and redoubles its efforts to control the global economy, even if it means the death by starvation of millions. As a condition the Catholic Church makes certain it will be the only organization with access to food and in exchange for saving a life it will demand a soul.
Only the True Pharaoh can stop them. With an army of ruthless mercenaries on his trail and every priest or nun a potential assassin, the young Pharaoh begins a dangerous journey across the Sahara to Timbuktu in Mali. If he and his intrepid band of friends fail to arrive, it would mean the end of the world.
