**A disaster waits...**

***The catatonic curse.* The bizarre epidemic spreads to the suburbs and countryside, releasing cities from its stranglehold. While Americans struggle with a scarlet wave of violence, the British confront their own demons. A spike in suicides, public and private, grip the city of London. 

Kristine McKay, Penelope Mercier, Neil Briggs, and the others each deal with the constantly shifting state of the world. One hides, another digs for more, one denies the most obvious explanation. They may not know it, but the battle for survival has already begun. The fate of humanity balances on the shoulders of these strangers. Only a handful search for the truth.
