BOOK 1: *Detective Flint Brason is a skilled, stern, no nonsense detective working the city streets of Los Angeles as a homicide detective.  Even grumpier than normal thanks to his efforts to quit smoking, Detective Flint makes it clear to everyone that he isn't in the mood to be messed with.  All he wants is to be left alone to work his cases in peace.  So, when he learns that he has been assigned a new partner - a clumsy female rookie, no less - he is far from thrilled.

Tori Arnold is excited about becoming a homicide detective.  She is  even more*  excited about being assigned to one of the best detectives in LA.  However, when she meets Detective Flint (and accidentally discharges her firearm during their introduction) she realizes that her new partner doesn’t exactly share her enthusiasm.  But, no matter, she is determined to win him over.

And when an old film star is found dead, Tori is going to get the chance to prove herself.  And, who knows, the case may also be the ticket to Hollywood she’s been dreaming of...

BOOK 2: *Detective Flint Brason and his partner, Tori Arnold, have been assigned to a new case.  But, rather than a grisly homicide, their boss, Chief Cunningham, explains that they’ve been chosen to protect an upcoming actress who’s been receiving death threats.  And, though disappointed by the thought of having to babysit a spoiled starlet, Flint and Tori have no choice but to do as ordered.

Expecting a humdrum assignment, Flint and Tori arrive at an old home sitting high in the canyons overlooking Los Angeles just as a heavy rain storm settles in.  

They anticipate immaturity and egomania.  They predict temper tantrums and unrealistic demands.  They foresee vapidity and boredom.  

What they  weren’t*  prepared for was the murder case they’d hoped for along along.  A dangerous case involving conspiracy, deception and intrigue.  And, as they chase a killer through the dark halls of a spooky Hollywood studio with their guns drawn, they realize that this supposedly mundane case just may be their last…

Detective Flint Brason is on the case once again. 

When Flint and his partner, Tori Arnold, are assigned to investigate the murder of an aged movie actor found strangled in his mansion, they are thrown headlong into another mystery that, itself, seems tailor-made for the silver screen.
