Insulating herself with layers of clothing she makes a trip to the police station. Once there, she meets Detective Ira Levin and his partner Murphy. Ira is sympathetic to Amelia, but is hesitant to believe her story that a serial killer is at large in Memphis.
Murphy isn't bashful when it comes to telling Amelia he thinks she is a certified 'fruit-loop'! His callous behavior send Amelia running from the building.
The captain, who over heard the exchange between Amelia and the detectives, decides it is better to be safe than sorry. He assigns Ira and Murphy the task of proving or disproving Amelia's claims.
As partners, Ira and Murphy have always been at odds. This case will stretch their relationship[ to the breaking point. What the detectives find as they investigate Amelia will shake the department and the city of Memphis to it's very core.
