Itzel sets off on an adventure to find her and bring her back, encountering ancient gods, wicked spirits, and curious creatures like a coati with a magical tail and a stealing habit. But there are others seeking the power of the necklace to resurrect the sinister god of death and return the Underworld to the glory of its darker days. Inspired by the rich mythology and folktales of the Maya, "The Land of the Night Sun" is the first book in a three-part series chronicling a brave girl's journey through the Underworld of Xibalba. It contains 15 illustrations by illustrator Ian Gibson.
