Kicked out of his Church, deserted by friends and family, abandoned by the God that he had once truly believed in; David's only escape is video games and the haze of marijuana. Until Lucas Anthony enters his life and questions everything he had once believed in. David begins experimenting with his ego in an attempt to discover himself again, escape from the past that an old friend is intent on dragging up, and finally, to seek the revenge that he thought would never be possible.
"For the first time in my life, my emotional response was of violence beyond just causing some physical pain as an excuse for releasing anger - that response had always been rare and easily calmed, easily justified as an 'unchecked thought' - where's The Bible so I can seek wisdom in this moment of weakness? But this, this was violence that wanted someone dead, and just because of that person's inability to control themselves.
I knew that thought, that feeling , was wrong, but this was Hell.
And all sins are justifiable in Hell."
Travel with David as he re-enters employment after a year of video-game exile and watch as he humorously confronts the crossover between real life and gaming obsession; Experience his sorrow, frustration, and confusion as he attempts to understand a world that had once loved him, only to suddenly reject him; Discover the characters he meets and the lives they lead as he learns to accept the consequences of his past and how it shapes his individuality now.
