The epic love story of Jeanne Rose and Lord Vradic of the House of Nar continues. They survived an alien abduction, accidental suspended animation, and an alien attack. Jeanne was an innocent when taken from her home world. Vradic made it his mission to keep her that way. He is vampire and she is human, and down they are adults. Their bond, forged in a crucible of isolation and danger, is now unbreakable.

Vradic spent years protecting her in the wilds of space. They ate, slept, prayed and fought together. Finally, they are on his home world. The rules of vampire society are very strict, and laws are more stringent than the ones surrounding the covenant of mating. Among the Vampiere, any male can issue a challenge for the hand of a female prior to the bonding ceremony. Vradic must defeat every vampire who challenges for her hand, in order to keep his little love mate at his side.

Unfortunately, the more his people see his little love mate in public, the more challenges he gets for her hand.
