The Perfects

The Perfects have existed for hundreds of years underground, and now they have surfaced to wage war against the superpowers, to save their mother, Earth, from total destruction.

The leaders in the West plan to initiate a nuclear attack on Afghanistan, so that they may claim the mineral wealth beneath the land worth one-trillion dollars. But, as the powers build their cold war shelters with the means to survive decades, the East prepare a counter attack; a move that could destroy the population of the planet.

The Perfects have been sent to save the world, but not the people. As they prepare their message to the powers who fight their cause, they connect to the pure of heart; ordinary people they call the Kudos.

Seventeen-year old Tom Stone is Kudos. He is prepared to do anything to get that one picture of the elusive creatures, even if it means risking his own life. When Tom meets undercover detective, Jay Pullman, together they meet the Perfects for the first time in a darkened New York alley. There begins a friendship that cannot be broken, not even by the fate of the planet.

Across the Atlantic, in Wiltshire, England, Mia Lake has an encounter with the Perfects when they destroy a man of no consequence. Afterwards she makes it her goal to go permanently underground, to live with them forever. If they will let her!

After a race of wits and solidarity, the Kudos find the lost subterranean world of Caer Sidi, where they are protected by the Perfects.

Finally as the powers destroy themselves with their arsenal of nuclear weapons, taking with them the voices and the will of the ordinary man, the only ones who survive are the people who live underground, where after the fallout, they will start again, as if was the beginning of time.
