** *“My spirit will never die;
I swear that I will someday find the amulet of the ancients,
unite with the underworld and return to wreak vengeance
on you and the rest of the living world.
You will all die screaming.”* **
More than a thousand years before the birth of Jesus Christ, an execution takes place in the palace courtyard of Pharaoh Memnon. The person condemned to a grisly fate is known across the desert lands as Toomak, high priestess, necromancer, and also a former close friend to the royal family.
With her dying breath, Toomak places a curse upon Memnon, his family and the rest of mankind.
Since that fateful day, Toomak’s tormented soul has remained in purgatory as she searches for a way back into the living world.
This debut novel by R.G.Knighton delivers a self-contained two-part terrifying horror story.
Book one begins in 1986, when deep underground one of England’s finest Universities, a close knit group of student friends conduct an unusual satanic experiment, hoping to catch a glimpse of the afterlife. All appears to be going well until their occult practice releases a host of evil and troubled souls back into the living world.
One of the souls released from her incarceration is Toomak. In a murderous rage she sets out in her quest to find the amulet of the ancients that will enable her to finally execute the curse made with her dying breath.
Book two follows Toomak back two-thousand years to the land of Ancient Judea, her re-birth time to coincide with Jesus of Nazareth.
Kept apart during their formative years, Toomak finally meets her antithesis on the fabled voyage to Glastonbury in England made by Jesus and his Uncle, Joseph of Arimathea.
This alternative view of Christian history pitches a constant battle of good versus evil, that ends in a cataclysmic showdown.
As terrifying horror stories go, this book is not for the faint hearted! In his usual highly descriptive manner, R.G.Knighton has created one of the great horror novels, sparing no punches in his graphic and often gory depictions of torture, human sacrifice, and death.
** *A scary novel for adults. You have been warned!* **
