When the planetoid Christos wipes out humanity it leaves behind enough survivors to spark the rebirth of mankind. One survivor, a priest named Father Angelo, travels for fourteen years with sixty dogs in search of another human, then finds a boy who’d been shunned by a cult under the spell of Owap the New God, a tyrant who has abolished families, stages regular firings, and criminalizes memories of the old world.
