Returning home after 10 years, Max Craven faces harsh memories.

His daughter was killed in a tragic accident and his wife later died in a fire.

He is tired of the city, but will returning home give him the new start he is looking for, or simply be painful?

Alison Benedict’s mother has just passed away and Alison is falling into the rhythm of life at Church Haywood when Max returns.

Alison grew up in Church Haywood, but lived in America for a time after her mother remarried.

Her mother wanted to return to the village and Alison accompanied her to spend her last few years together.

After a frosty encounter in the graveyard, it turns out that Alison and Max have history.

Max blames her for his daughter’s death, but he doesn’t know the whole story. She was the babysitter when the accident happened.

They now have to try and live together in the village as they interact with their neighbours and mutual friends.

As is typical within villagers, they meddle and interfere, both for loving and devious reasons.

Alison and Max meet both wonderful and somewhat questionable characters as they work out the past.

Supported by their family and friends, the two of them slowly grow closer together as the everyday happenings in the village create mystery, laughs, and love.

Life in Church Haywood can be wonderful, but when the secrets this town holds come to light, the past creates a painful present.

Learning the truth about the past will be difficult, but may be the only way for all to move forward.

What really happened on that terrible day?

Will Max and Alison overcome what comes between them?
