[Woody Stone, Private Investigator 01] • The Case of the Little Italy Bounce

June of 1960 finds Woodrow Stone sporting a solid, professional reputation as a tough Private Investigator in the Big Apple. Crazy Joe Gallo, an ambitious Lower East Side mobster, throws up a multi-layered net of deceit and intrigue when he frames the private dick for murder then gives him the ultimatum: play ball with me or get dead. Neither is going to happen, not by a long shot. With Gallo turning the screws, Woody is obsessed with unraveling the inside-con, but the Universe is working overtime to deny him all but one option; he would have to send the goombah a message to desist. It would have to be a big one, the size of the Williamsburg Bridge, and done while ducking a police manhunt. Woody knows if it doesn’t work, it’ll give them all plenty to talk about when they plant him.
