When Gracelyn Gregg graduated from college she thought she'd marry her college sweetheart, Blaine Kendall. They had made plans but he throws her a curve ball when he announces he's headed to Africa for an undisclosed amount of time. Gracelyn's best friend, Judah, picks up the pieces of her broken heart with a summer full of adventure.

While trying to remain faithful to Blaine, Gracelyn discovers it's harder than she thought when she's with Judah. After an adventure turns peril at the hands of a hurricane, Judah poses another alternative to her well-laid plans.
