"Unc' Edinburg" by Thomas Nelson Page (1853-1922) is an example of the remarkable loyalty existing between a young master, "Marse George," and his slave, "Unc' Edinburg." Page's tale begins with the writer traveling and running into the old slave, who proceeds to tell his story. Unc' tells of life on the plantation including George's unconsummated love affair with Miss Charlotte, which ultimately attests to the abiding honor of this southern gentleman. This Booth and Davis edition contains all of the original prints by B. West Clinedinst.
