[The Forbidden Wilds 07] • Out of the Big Black

The war between the Three Galaxies and M-87 ended ten years ago and peace prevails. Some say it's boring but Jingle Berringer thinks it's the best time of her life. After fighting wars in and out of the galaxy most of her life, spending all her time with her children and grandchildren along with being a professor at the Fleet Academy fills her time with all the joy she can handle. The Three Galaxies are prospering and who could ask for more? But...in the back of her mind a small fear remains. The universe can unexpectedly throw things toward you that you never see coming. Jingle calls the universe The Big Black and when The Big Black throws things your way, the results can be devastating and explosive. But so far, so good, right?

One day her husband contacts her during one of her classes to go on a quick mission with him. She initially refuses insisting she no longer flew missions, but Alex is adamant. She reluctantly agrees and discovers that an advanced alien warship has appeared in M-85 and he was assigned the mission to go confront it. Jingle has little doubt that this warship came out of The Big Black and was anything but good news. Then things quickly got out of hand as the Big Black threw so many things so fast keeping track was close to impossible. A new Forbidden Wilds appeared with a Nasty Civilization the Three Galaxies were going to come into contact with soon, according to the most highly advanced alien civilization that suddenly appeared.

Jingle was determined to stay out of it and live her perfect life. But the military leaders were in over their heads and she could clearly see it. It was up to them to find their way, not her. But could she keep her mouth shut? When had she ever been able to do that?
