Merlin, Kore, and Serix find themselves on a distant beach as the rest of their group recovers from the recent battle on Saspe’s Peak. The Phoenix’s army has arrived at Lancaster and has begun its siege. King Erik has fallen ill, driven crazy by a past life come to life, while his wife rides west in search of their kidnapped daughter.

The Four Horsemen have been unleashed upon the free races. The Dwarves are dying from plagues, the Human cities to the north to Famine, War has arrived at Lancaster, and Merlin comes face to face with Death. Four swords are needed to unlock the way to the Lady of the Lake, with the Sword of Madera and Justice in hand, Tristan’s party sets out for Camelot in search of the third key; Dragonslayer.

With constant attacks, encounters with dragons, and the Phoenix always appearing one step ahead; Tristan starts to wonder, is he even the right one to retrieve Excalibur? Is he truly... Pure of Heart?
