The book “Love & Relationships: Failure is the New Success” is a mesmerizing story of a man who felt trapped in a bad relationship, but he carried on rather than giving up. This is for all those who experienced at least one failed relationship in their lives. The tale weaves around love, betrayal, friendship, human values, with equal measure of contradicting emotions. The story has shadows of casteism, prejudice, cynicism and discriminating customs as prevalent in contemporary Indian society. It also touches upon spirituality, which still remains the central idea of Indian philosophy.

The story revolves around the protagonist Durvish Saxena and love of his life Sanjana Tripathi. His parents, an Indian Fakir, and his best friend Alex played a vital role to get him over difficulties. The other characters were woven beautifully and have been introduced in the plot at appropriate time. Durvish went through a lot of pain, This story is a journey of a common man battling with himself, how he finds his way through the inner conflict and all the barriers towards success. The central idea of the story is that, in a relationship, a man can still find success inspite of facing numerous failures. In relationships, people find themselves out of their comfort zone and that can become an opportunity to grow if they manage to convert their negative energies into positive.

Durvish and Sanjana love each other, they want to marry. He was an exporter of garments in Pushkar, Rajasthan, India. Sanjana was his assistant, whose skills at choosing designs and patterns of garments, helped him grow his business. When he realized they were in love and inseparable, he found that she was invoved with other men. In the patriarchal and chauvinistic society, typical of Indian middle class, he felt his masculinity was threatened, and the ensuing frustration and depression led him to the extent, contemplating ending his life. Acrimony and exasperation made him violent and he even thought of killing those dating her. He went through the cycle of losing and winning Sanjana back more than a couple of times. What happens at the end? Did he win her again? Was he able to get his love life back on track?
