The protagonist is a black male of means and character! We all love characters like Alex Cross and Mma Precious Ramotswe let me also tell you this that I did love the premise of the plot. It works towards showing that corruption has filtered through everywhere and that not everyone in the position of power can be trusted. Sometimes we are betrayed by the people who are supposed to protect us. The pace is also well set

Black Love is thinking about becoming a private investigator. He accepts a case to find a police detective’s missing daughter. Then he discovers a pattern of missing girls. Then an old friend, fresh out of prison, shows up with more trouble. Can Love keep everything straight...and keep his romantic entanglements from knotting up his life?

Being a lover of mystery, and suspense this is a joy of a read that kept me excited from the beginning to the end. I'm definitely hooked, and can't wait to read the other books.

I loved the plot and all of the colorful and crazy characters! This is a fast-paced mystery that will keep you turning the pages. A must read!

An ex-district attorney, Black Love, tries his skills in the private detective field when his 'friend with benefits', Trigger Brown, asks him for a favor. Black takes on the case of a missing teenager, Joanne.

I'm growing to like Black Love...I like that he goes above and beyond to help solve a case. It felt like an episode of Law professionally and personally. After losing his present girlfriend in an attempt to save a former girlfriend the District Attorney turned amateur sleuth returns from Danville, IL to his home in Chicago and finds himself conflicted with being the District Attorney, at a crossroads in life he resigns and meets Trigger Brown a new flame.

It doesn’t take long before he finds himself embarking on his next mystery. As a favor to Trigger he agrees to help Bunchy Edwards’ a missing person’s detective, whose own daughter has gone missing. Making his way through the city looking for one missing girl he quickly finds out it’s an epidemic, teenage girls are coming up missing on Chicago’s Southside, and no one seems to notice or care.

To make matters worse the more he digs to get to the truth the more he finds that certain city officials will do anything to keep it buried. With little clues to go on and parents that seem to be hiding secrets to the case he finds himself caught in a web of conspiracy, deceit, and murder. Black races against the clock to find the girl and bring her abductor to justice. Will he find her before the unthinkable happens? Or will she join the list of lost souls?
