There's no rest for the weary

An unemployed ex-football player's life can be pretty depressing. But Gideon Sunday finds that he prefers being depressed to being dead. Ever since he stepped into the magical land of Chey, people have looked to Gideon to be their savior. All he's wanted to do is go home, to some moderately poor scotch and his crossword puzzles. But try as he might, Gideon discovers that he can't desert the people who have made him feel like a winner for the first time in his life.

And Chey certainly needs a hero now. Agnes, wicked wife of the sorcerer Wamchu, has broken away and threatens to destroy everything to gain control. Her Day of Power is fast approaching, and Gideon is Chey's last hope. The two-minute warning has been called, and it's fourth down for Gideon. If he fumbles this one, it will be the longest off-season anyone will ever know.
