Master science fiction writer Philip Jose Farmer turns his hand to mystery with this violent-filled (but sexless) adventure set in Peoria, Illinois. A self-obsessed private detective married to a sincere Wiccan is hired to witness an illegal transfer of money in a cemetery. When the deal goes wrong, the P.I. ends up chasing the bad guys through all levels of Peoria's society, geography, and history.
