Skylar Matthews just turned 18 when she started having unsettling dreams that were enough to wake her from deep slumber. Some of them were pleasant, others were disturbing, while the rest were downright dangerous.

The first of these dreams came on the eve of her birthday when she saw a strange boy with uncanny silver-grey eyes. She didn’t expect to see him in person, nor did she expect that she would actually need to spend more time with him to save her life. Now numerous problems are plaguing her, and her entire world rattled the moment he stepped into town.

Adrien Fields wasn’t exactly overjoyed at seeing her again, but as it turns out, he really doesn’t have a choice in the matter. Now it seems like all he could do is blame the prophecy. He acts that out by irritating her most of the time and saving her life at other times, which thoroughly complicates her life.

This is his plan: Defy fate and rebel against the prophecy that links them both together. The only problem is will he be able to keep up with his nasty act and not start caring about her once he sees her again?
