[Trojan Gene 01] • The Awakening

Trojan Gene is set in a dystopian world, where a genetic engineering disaster has caused infertility in most countries. The few fertile populations left are quarantined and managed by the Administration and Vector as breeding stock for the rest of the world.

Jack Fraser, eighteen years old, is desperate to prove himself to the leader of the resistance movement, Jacob, so he can fight the Administration. Instead Jacob puts him in charge of protecting Ela, Jacob’s sixteen year old granddaughter.

Ela is the answer to the world’s infertility problems, her mother isn’t a Local, but Ela was conceived naturally, she is proof the infertility can be reversed. The Administration knows about Ela’s existence and send an agent Carlos Vincent to eliminate her.

Jack and Ela discover a seed vault built by their fathers, to protect biodiversity. The Willis brothers who work for Carlos Vincent, capture Ela and make her to take them to the Vault, intending to destroy it.
