Joy's mother suffered from dementia, as well as acute hearing loss. As her full time caregiver, she received a great deal of help in the form of Home Health Care workers who visited twice a week.
Seeking release from the indescribable, never-ending demands of being a caregiver, Joy began to write about her experiences, sharing them through various outlets. She found that writing and laughter were her only outlets of relief.
She had no idea so many people could identify with what she was going through, people in much the same circumstances. She had no idea how many people were comforted by her words.
This book is an account of that time and those words which provided the much-needed help to so many others.
