Lisbeth has given birth to her hybrid baby, but things aren’t getting any easier for her as she is convinced that the child will grow up to become a dangerous killer like Anastasia Bathory. Added to this, she has discovered that her boyfriend isn't dead, as first thought.

The conflicting emotions she feels must be put to one side, however, as Lisbeth enters negotiations with the Lycans, to forge an alliance against the turned vampires who threaten them.

Desperate to thwart the looming war, Lisbeth needs answers for her daughter, and to get them, she turns to James, the vampire who had previously bitten and tortured her. He tells her that the only way to find Anastasia Bathory, the woman who instigated the genocide, is to first find a vampire named Lucas, and to do that they need the only werewolf in existence: Knight.

Lisbeth now decides that her conflicted feelings about Knight should be secondary. She coordinates vampire and Lycan delegates to pitch the alliance to wolf packs across the globe, and with the help of Knight she tracks down the eccentric Lucas.

He agrees to help them and eventually they find their way to the ruins of Anastasia Bathory’s castle. But there are greater shocks in store for Lisbeth, when she comes face to face with the woman that brought vampires to their knees and doesn’t find what she expected.

As war against the turned approaches, it’s now or never for Lisbeth and Knight. Their alliance will either save their world, or see it destroyed forever.
