Dorado

Years ago, Jordan's great grandfather worked the claim in Dorado, before he vanished into the forest without a trace. Now, she's hiking out with her kid brother and sister, her father and his new fiancée. It's supposed to be a fun trip, an opportunity for everyone to bond. 

The first signs are in the trees, strange structures made with uprooted saplings and snapped off branches. Then there's the eerie, heavy quiet, and the river with no fish. Dorado never belonged to Jordan's great grandfather. This is something else's territory, something ancient and cunning. A creature that likes to play with its food before it eats. 

And Jordan and her family have just put themselves on the menu.
