The Key to Hiding

One dark, storm-drenched night in 1898, Marley suffers an agonising fate. Ashamed and afraid of the consequences of her ordeal, she escapes and finds solace at a grand Mansion, Wilbury House. There, with the help of a housemaid called Celia, Marley hides in the vast attic and makes it her home. Unaware of the intruder in the attic, the household go on with their lives, as Marley discovers secrets that could cause a scandal for the gentry living in the house below. As Marley hides some secrets of her own, she remains undiscovered for another seventeen years. The Key to Hiding is a story of survival in the strangest of circumstances, a story of secrets, love and friendship and a story of agoraphobia, as the world outside the attic becomes Marley’s biggest fear.
