La primera vez que Neruda viajó a Isla de Pascua lo hizo en forma imaginaria. Fue en 1948, mientras vivía en la clandestinidad y terminaba de escribir el más monumental de sus libros: "Canto General". En enero de 1971, Neruda visitó, esta vez físicamente, a Rapa Nui. Producto de este viaje es su libro "La Rosa Separada".
The first time that Neruda travelled to Easter Island, he did so on an imaginary voyage. It happened in 1948, when he lived clandestinely and had managed to finish the most monumental of his works, "Canto General", during that period. In January 1971 Neruda really travelled to Rapa Nui. The outcome of this voyage was this book, "The Separate Rose".
