Becca Hutchins, a young mail order bride, is drawn to Colorado Territory after answering an ad from a boy who wants a new Ma. After exchanging letters, she marries the boy’s father thinking her dreams have come true only to suffer several devastating blows and tragic loss which leaves her a widow and reeling from the death of her visiting twin sister.

She struggles to overcome her sorrow by working to keep her children and ranch together with the help of her husband’s best friend and blood brother, Still River.

Becca finds in her struggle to heal her broken heart and the family’s sorrow that love, devotion and commitment are a healing balm for a season of weeping among the willows.
