At first, I didn't want to come to the United States Military Academy. The school's already taken both of my brothers, and I'm the last of the line. I didn't want West Point to be the end of the Carlyle family.

But I was pulled here as if by a magnet. The Long Gray Line is in my blood, Duty, Honor, and Country pulsing through my very veins.

I certainly never expected to meet someone like Simon Lancaster. Aloof, aristocratic, and with a sense of steely composure that draws me to him, I can't help myself. I want him, and I can tell he wants me too.

But at every turn, fate seems to want to pull us apart. What can I do to satisfy both honor and my heart?

That was, until I saw Ashley Carlyle and her flaming auburn hair for the first time. Denied to me by the simple fact that I was her squad leader, I had to wait for so long. Now I'm a Lieutenant, an Apache pilot, and she's waiting for me back home.

But I find myself in a hell worse than anything I've ever imagined before. Must I be forced to betray my honor and my country, or is there a way that I will be able to have my love in my arms again?
