The treaty between Rellizbix and Greimere is broken. Raegith Caelum, the Grass-Haired Demon, returns to his former kingdom with a Greimere army at his back. This time, no contract binds them to defeat. Helfria, daughter of the king, holds her ground as the first female Senator of Rellizbix while investigating the source of her father's recent depression. Octavius Nero, a simple corporal from the 8th Regiment, rages against his unmerited title of "Hero" after surviving a battle with the terrifying Greimere raiders. In the lands north of the Hell Cliffs, the people of Rellizbix struggle in the aftermath of their first major defeat in centuries. The 9th Regiment is gone. Entire towns in the Wilderness are going dark and refugees are flooding across the Pisces River. Follow Raegith and his Helcats they lead his army to conquest in the fertile lands of the Wilderness.
