Rubicon Crossing

After nearly half-a-century, the war with the Quillans was over, but the devastation left in its wake was immense. Completing its deliveries to several outlying worlds as part of the relief effort, the cargo ship USSF Nova was on its way home to Earth. After narrowly escaping a close encounter with a rogue black hole, the crew wakes to find themselves lost in unfamiliar space. Seeking a way home in a badly damaged ship, with a potentially malfunctioning virtual agent, they encounter a post-apocalyptic Earth-like planet where the two remaining cultures are engaged in a fierce and deadly battle for dominance. While Captain Donald Benjamin Garris attempts to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict, he discovers a far greater threat looming ahead and finds himself and his crew tasked with saving an entire planet from annihilation. Against nearly insurmountable odds, the veteran soldier vows to persevere, knowing that once certain borders are crossed, there may be no return.
